The controls are more intuitive and ergonomic front seats were created to provide maximum comfort and the rear can be folded in order to increase versatility. The 2011 Accord comes with a four-cylinder DOHC i-VTEC 2.4-liter with 177 to 190 horsepower for the coupe and sedan. You have the choice of manual (5-speed/ 6-speed for the V6 coupe) or automatic transmission.

Currently about 95% of the Accord sold in the U.S. are produced at the plant in Marysville, Ohio and Alabama.

One of the achievements of this Honda Accord is that it has a high fuel efficiency. 4-cylinder models with automatic transmission achieve an estimated 12 miles per gallon on the highway. The V-6 reaches an estimated 11 miles per gallon, which means that the new Accord has an even greater fuel economy than last year model. In addition, as an added bonus, all Accord models use regular unleaded gasoline.

It is classified as a vehicle emissions ultraminimal and Partial Zero Emission Vehicle. Honda was the first manufacturer to offer ULEV technology emissions rating (ultraminimal Emission Vehicle) in mass production vehicles. Currently, the 2011 Accord offers the technology even with more strict Partial Zero Emission Vehicle.

This Accord also won a safety rating of 5 stars in each category combined according to the latest standards of the National Highway Traffic Safety. Vehicle Stability System helps detect excess or lack of movement direction in an emergency situation and then regulates the brake pressure at each wheel and reduce engine power. This, along with ABS brakes and Electronic Brake Distribution helps drivers regain control of the vehicle in case of unexpected sudden movements or braking. It also has a control system of the tire pressure that alerts the driver when tire pressure reaches a low level. If an accident is unavoidable, the car has frame rails that improve in-floor energy absorption on impact. The body structure distributes frontal crash energy to a wide area to zoom passengers. All Accord have front air bags, front side and side airbags standards that help reduce injuries in accidents.
